Tupperware international has been the first and number one leader industry since its early start in 1946. They are a billion-dollar company today that has helped elevate numerous people into a good economic place as they have over 2.5 million sales representatives.

Earl Tupper founded the company during the 1940s as a way to reduce food waste during the Great Depression. Utilizing plastic and a seal-tight top, similar to a paint can. Not much has changed today as Tupperware still utilizes this design with innovative, lightweight, and non-breakable plastic.

On top of providing a top-selling idea to the world that helps reduce food waste and keep food fresh, Tupperware company helped play a big part in elevating women in the economic force and giving them more independence. Brownie Wise joined Earl Tupper to make this business a larger success in the 1950s and helped bring numerous women into the sales force; teaching them about door-to-door sales and spreading this useful product through word of mouth. This is actually where the idea of Tupperware parties comes from. This helped many women gain independence financially and elevate many families economically after the great depression.

Their product lines have since expanded into a multi-billion dollar industry offering any kind of food storage one can think of and more. Find everything from microwave, freezer, and pantry storage to dining and drinkware. Their plastic Is flexible, seals airtight, and as of 2010 is totally BPA-free plastic for safe and nontoxic storage.

They also now offer cleaning products made of clean and organic ingredients including dish soaps for the ultimate cleaning of your Tupperware products.

As of the early 200's they also offer kitchen gadgets and even a kid's shop with various snacking utensils and thermal bottles in fun designs, colors, and characters from Disney movies.

Their long history, quality products, and values as a company have helped support its growth. In 2020 they partnered with the National Park Foundation and matched up to 2.2 million dollars to help reduce global waste and support sustainability and wildlife. On top of this generous donation, their "Do Good" initiative has helped to build various water refilling stations and support recycling infrastructure across the globe.

Tupperware's Compensatin Plan Type is Unilevel

In the unilevel plan, which is used by Tupperware, all directly sponsored members who are recruited by the Tupperware independent consultant are placed under him/her into a single business level. Additional levels are then created as those sponsored members build teams.

The uni-level compensation plan typically will payout on several levels below the consultant, depending on his/her rank.

For example, new Tupperware consultants who are just starting out may only earn commission on the sales volume of their directly sponsored team members or level one. Once they achieve a higher career rank, they may earn commission on levels below their directly sponsored team members. Future rank advancements may include additional levels of commissions earned farther down their sponsor tree.

Considerations When Choosing An Household Goods Direct Selling Company

Now that you have decided to pursue a career in direct sales, the natural next step is to determine which household goods direct selling company you want to work for.

Here are some considerations when choosing a household goods direct selling company:

The Product and Market Size - Many direct sellers join a household goods direct selling company because they believe in the product base. Choosing a particular product base will help you narrow down your options but remember that even then, you are still likely to have several options, so it would help a lot to consider all factors before making your choice.

Reasonable Compensation Package - Choose a company with a competitive but reasonable compensation package. If you put in the effort and build a large base of customers, you should be able to achieve your financial objectives sooner rather than later.

Brand Recognition - When selecting a direct sales company, you should conduct as much research as possible, primarily if the company is new to the direct-to-consumer industry. Joining an established direct sales company would benefit from massive brand recognition, as consumers would be familiar with the company and its product line, making it possible to market your products.
